The eighth annual Tata Literature Live festival returns from November 16th to 19th, 2017 at the National Centre for Performing Arts. On the 18th and 19th, there will be sessions and performances held as part of this festival in Prithvi Theatre as well.
Literature and theatre buffs in Mumbai have a lot to look forward to as this Literature festival includes participation by eminent writers like Margaret Drabble, Allan Sealy, Thomas Friedman, Jeet Thayil and many other equally eminent writers. The opening ceremony on the 16th at the Tata theatre, will include a talk between Shashi Tharoor and Peter Frankopan about who got a better deal, the British or the Indians, after their two hundred year rule of this country. Also included are many workshops and theatre performances , like The Dubliner’s Dilemma and X and Y, a unique play from the UK. Scheduled on the last day is a musical performance by eminent sarod player, Amjad Ali Khan. He will also be in conversation with the festival director, Anil Dharker.
Also included in this festival are scintillating debates, and book launches. Nayantara Sahgal’s “When The Moon Shines”, and Javed Akhtar’s book “Talking Films: Conversations on Hindi Cinema”, are sure to draw many people to their respective releases.
For the convenience of those living in the suburbs most of the events will be repeated at Prithvi Theatre on November 18thand 19th. Hats off Mr. Dharker, you have lined up another Literary festival of mammoth proportions for the Mumbaiwalas!
Daily tickets will be given free of cost every morning at 9am at both venues.
